Analogue Watches

Analogue - a watch that has moving hands and hours marked 1 to 12. An analogue (sometimes spelled ‘analog’) watch is the image that most of us conjure up in our minds when we think of the word ‘watch’. An analogue watch indicates time by means of mechanical structures (the movement) within the watch. A digital watch, by contrast, uses electronic means, such as liquid crystal and LED, by which to indicate time. So why does the analogue watch continue to be so popular for so many people? For one, it hearkens to tradition and legacy and their inherent value in watchmaking. For another, there is an elegance and a timelessness about the hands and numbers on the dial of an analogue watch. After all, what can be more comforting and reassuring than the ticking of a watch?
