This superb offering for ladies by Certina may be lunar-inspired, but it is a watch that is as robust and down-to-earth as any watch can be. The ceramic features of this watch give it a modernity and sportiness that is eye-catching and will appeal to the modern woman. This is Certina at its very best: strong-looking, assured in its technology and uncompromising in design.
The DS First Lady Moon Phase brings together chronograph functions, standard time display and moon-phase information in a stylish 38mm PVD rose gold, brushed and polished stainless-steel case. The case is beautifully topped by a bezel made of textured ceramic material and a final touch of matching ceramic is also used for the crown cabochon. The light mother-of-pearl dial sits behind a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces, with teardrop-shaped indices, a cheeky diamond-adorned lucky star at the 10 o’clock position and a date window at 4 o’clock. There is a softly rounded moon window to show the lunar phases around which are sprinkled delicate stars. All of these attributes work beautifully and harmoniously together.
Inside the watch is Certina’s superbly accurate Precidrive™ quartz movement, which uses Certina’s renowned DS (double security) Concept. This watch is water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m) and the standard version is equipped with a white leather strap and twin push-button butterfly buckle. Additional models are available, including a fully stainless-steel version with ceramic central bracelet links and watch case in plain stainless steel, and a model with a glossy black dial and a matching black leather steel. The natural stainless-steel version is also available with a leather strap, in either black or white.
As Certina proudly declares, “Its sporty nature, sophisticated PVD rose gold trim and ceramic bezel are just the right fashion touch for today’s active woman”. The woman who wears the Certina DS First Lady Moon Phase is anything but a wallflower. She is assertive, highly confident and will make it, even in a man’s world. Ultimately, she is the very epitome of the strident, modern woman.
