The elegant rhythm of lunar cycles
The distinguished Certina DS-8 chronograph reaches for the skies with the addition of a moon phase indicator. Inside its brushed/polished stainless-steel case, its highly accurate Precidrive movement uses an original arrangement of chronograph displays in a new look, with a brushed sunray-finished dial and an elegant leather strap.
True watch lovers will appreciate the moon-cycle feature of the Certina DS-8 Chronograph. Placed at 10 o’clock on the dial, it shows both average cycle duration and moon quarters, next to standard H, M, small-second and date information. Chronograph functions, which include 12-hour, 60-min. and 60-sec. timing, have been carefully rearranged, with 12-hour information shown in a window inside the 60-min. counter and 60 sec. timing displayed through the central second hand. The case is a gorgeous fusion of polished case areas next to brushed lug surfaces, and complementary polished bezel, crown and push-buttons. Fashionably sized at 42 mm, the case is well-suited to both day and evening activities.
Both the hands and the indices, in beautiful PVD rose-gold, are treated with Superluminova, to enhance readability under all lighting conditions. The sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both faces, allows clear viewing of the beautiful, brushed sunray-finished dark-grey dial surface and the various timing indications. The CERTINA DS-8 Moon Phase is water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m) and is assembled using the well-known DS (Double Security) Concept, as underlined by the letters “DS” inscribed on the crown tip. The case-back carries the historical CERTINA turtle logo as a further reminder of the timepiece’s reliability and long life.
Additional models are available, including a black and a silver-coloured dial version, with five-row brushed/polished stainless-steel bracelet or brown leather, respectively, and the same reliable twin-push-button butterfly buckle.
